Shifts:
Monday - Friday, Dayshift Overview:
This accounting position would be part of our Guardianship department.
COMPASS provides court appointed Guardianship to clients.
This may include guardianship of their financial resources.
This position will perform the accounting functions for the clients.
This includes:
Posting income receipts for all clients.
Preparation of bank deposits, closing of bank accounts, setting up electronic transfers into client's accounts and obtaining all required bank statements needed for accountings to process for court approval.
Perform the disbursements function for all wards, including processing bills, printing checks, , and contacting creditors as needed regarding status of bills.
Open and close all bank accounts for clients with Estates.
Complete partial, annual, and final accountings for all wards, including computation of guardian's compensation within required court timelines.
Review and organize tax data for all wards, and process payments for federal, state and local tax returns as required.
Maintain all transactions in QuickBooks including documenting additional assets listed on inventories.
Other responsibilities related to Guardianship Program Services:
Meet monthly with each Guardian to review financial aspects to manage ward assets.
Monitor financial activities of Guardians and report any late payments or missing court orders to the Program Director.
Establish and maintain budgets for Guardian of Estate wards.
Provide assistance to the guardians with completing inventories and reviewing financial documents brought from the ward's residence.
Qualifications:
Education/
Experience:
Associate degree in accounting or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant accounting or bookkeeping experience is required.
Technology:
The capacity to use and understand current information technology to include Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel) etc.
; mobile computing devices; clinical/programmatic information systems software and experience with QuickBooks.
Miscellaneous requirements:
Criminal background check; Pre-employment drug screen; if applicable to the position requirements:
Clear driving record, TB test, Mini-Physical and First Aid/CPR.
Must meet COMPASS automobile liability insurance carrier guidelines to be insurable under the COMPASS policy.
Note:
COMPASS clients should be transported using a COMPASS vehicle, if a COMPASS vehicle is not available then the staff member is responsible to verify that they maintain adequate coverage through their personal carrier.
If a COMPASS vehicle is not available, then the staff member is responsible to verify that they maintain coverage through their personal carrier for business related travel, including the transporting of clients, and must provide proof of coverage to COMPASS prior to transporting any COMPASS clients.
